With origins dating back to the eighteenth century, the University of Porto (UP) is currently one of the most prestigious Higher Education Institutions in Europe. With 32000 students, 24000 professors and researchers, UP is the biggest producer of Science in Portugal, responsible for the 23% of the Portuguese scientific articles in journals indexed each year in the ISI Web of Science.
Together with the University of Lisboa, UP is involved in the Master in Viticulture and Oenology that provides a through technical and scientific training in that area, fostering synergism between teaching, research, production and industry.
UP is also involved in a Master in Tourism. It is aimed to prepare both tourism industry professionals interested in complementing and improving their knowledge and share their own personal experiences, and young postgraduates who seek to consolidate their knowledge in the Master's scientific fields and find professional careers in this activity.
