WINTOUR 4.0 enjoying Spain at URV!
We proudly present you our new intake: WINTOUR 4.0! Welcome to the Wintour family! In October, our students did their first harvest of the Wintour 4.0 in the URV’s Cellar and experimental fields of Mas dels Frares, which is located in Constantí, Catalonia, a village near our campus. The URV has provided an agricultural estate of 7 hectares that has been used for the cultivation of different varieties of grapes and the elaboration of wine.
Another trip of Wintour 4.0 was to Cavas Codorniu Cellar, in Sant Sadurní D’Anoia, Catalonia, a National Monument of Historical and Artistic Interest. The Codorníu cellars are beyond a doubt the most well-known and visited cellars in Catalonia. This is true not only because Codorníu was the first company to produce cava in Catalonia, led by cava pioneer Josep Raventós i Fatjó in 1872, but also on account of the architecture of the building itself, a spectacular Modernista-style work designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1895 and 1915 and later declared an historic-artistic monument.
Finally, some weeks ago, in November, Wintour 4.0 students went on a trip to La Rioja, Spain. La Rioja is synonymous of wine. The denomination of origin spreads along 54.000 hectares around three different Communities (La Rioja, Basque Country and Navarre). The wines of Rioja are one of the most famous of Spain and its long tradition supports their fame.
