Welcoming of the new WINTOUR students - Intake 2018-2020

Welcome back!

We are happy to present you the 2018-2020 intake of the #WintourMaster. This new batch of #winesionaries boasts 25 students from 18 different nationalities! COSTA RICA, TAIWAN, PHILIPPINES and AZERBAIJAN are the new countries joining the set of nationalities hosted by WINTOUR in previous editions.

16 Partner Country Scholarship holders, 3 Programme Country Scholarship holders and 9 self-funded students began their 1st semester at Facultat d'Enologia URV last Wednesday with orientation sessions and introductory visits as part of a Welcome Week programme of events.

The week started with Welcome Presentations with URV Vice-rector for internationalisation Dr. John Glenmore Style, Dean of the URV Faculty of Oenology: Dr. Joan Miquel Canals, Vice-dean of the URV Faculty of Tourism and Geography: Dr. Jesús Angla, WINTOUR General Coordinator: Dr. Gemma Beltran and WINTOUR Teaching staff followed by a "MEET AND GREET" reception.

The programme continued with informative talks delivered by URV International Center informative, WINTOUR Project Manager: Dr. Cinta Sanz and WINTOUR Administrative Support: Ms. Daphne Jumilla, who have been busy welcoming everybody to the Master's first semester.

The week finished with a Guided visit to Tarragona's Roman heritage (Part Alta) provided by Tarragona Tourism Board.

During this year the entire class will stay in URV - ROVIRA I VIRGILI UNIVERSITY - Coordinating Institution - for the first semester studying the different types of Sparkling Wines, heritage and landscapes, local wines and gastronomy, destinations and introduction to wine marketing. In the end of January the group moves to ISVV -
INSTITUT DE SCIENCES DE LA VIGNE ET DU VIN- BORDEAUX Aquitaine - to explore Aged Red and Sweet Wine Production, food Matching and Service, online placement, leadership in wine tourism operation and classes/workshops at the École du Vin.
